What can you test with a Hiermelden demo?
Explore how residents submit a report and how a council can handle it. Your demo covers your council area and has no connection to other systems.
Request a demo for your council
Choose your council, enter your contact details and set a password. You receive an email with a test link and a sign-in link. Each demo has one management account. You can share the test link with colleagues so they can submit reports. Only the account holder can change report statuses. An authenticator app or passkey is optional in the demo.
Submit a report as a resident
Open the test link and choose a location within your council area. Search for an address, select a point on the map or use your current location. The map also shows open reports. Next, choose the problem. Add details about the exact spot, such as the bench next to the park entrance. You can add a photo and more information. Check your report and save it. You can then add contact details for updates. This is optional.
Use familiar examples and test data
Try reporting litter beside a bin, a loose paving stone at a bus stop or a broken streetlight. Choose different locations to test the map. Use test data only. Do not enter real residents’ details or upload photos of identifiable people. Demo reports are not sent to the council or any other system.
View a report and change its status
Sign in and open your demo overview. Find a report and view the problem, location and any photo. Change its status to Under review and then Work in progress, for example. You can add an explanation for the resident. When closing a report, you must select a reason and add an explanation. You can also explain that a problem is already known or will not be fixed. Closed reports disappear from the map of open reports but remain in the management overview.
Try the whole process
Start with a report about litter beside a bin. Check that it appears in the right place on the map. Open the management overview and mark the report as Under review. Close it with the reason Fixed and the explanation: The litter has been collected. View the status history and check that the report has disappeared from the map. This takes you through the process from submission to closure.
How does a connected council work?
In a regular environment, reports are forwarded through the configured integration to the council’s case management system or another system. Staff handle reports there, and that system sends status updates back to Hiermelden. The demo has no integration. You change statuses yourself to explore the workflow. The demo does not send status emails either. Statuses and explanations stay within the demo. The demo therefore does not test whether an integration with your case management system works.
Two months to explore
Your demo is available for two months. The expiry date appears in the welcome email and in the demo. Contact Hiermelden if you need more time. An administrator can extend the demo. After testing, discuss the topics, explanations and integrations your council needs.
