Privacy and your report
Learn which information we use when you make a report or confirm an existing one.
What information do we save?
We save the chosen location, topic, text and optional photo. Confirmations record that you reported the same problem. Contact details are optional and can be added after saving.
Who receives your report?
The route depends on the council and topic. Reports may go to a case management system, Checkmaster or the responsible party by email. The council configures the route. Contact details are only shared if the route permits it and you provided them for communication about the report.
What is public?
Other visitors see the topic, status and approximate location on the map. Your exact address, own text, photo and contact details are not public. Known situations contain only the information the connected organisation supplies for residents.
Your personal link
Your personal page has a long random link. The report number does not grant access. Save the link and keep it private: anyone with it can view your page. Another resident confirming the report receives a separate link and cannot see your personal information.
Maps and address searches
Maps use OpenStreetMap and address searches use PDOK. Search queries go to the address service and map image requests go to the map service. Your browser only shares your current location with your permission.
Photos and text
Avoid names or other personal information in your text and recognisable people in your photo. Photos are optional. They may contain device metadata; remove it before uploading if you do not want to share it.
Retention and deletion
Retention periods need to be agreed with the participating council. Automatic deletion is not configured yet. Data remains in Hiermelden when a connected system closes a report. Closing is different from deleting.
Questions about your information
You can ask which information is held about you and request correction or deletion. Whether information can be deleted depends on the report and agreements with the responsible organisation.
