  • An emergency or immediate danger? Call 112.
  • Need the police, but it is not urgent? Call 0900-8844.
  • Rubbish on the street, loose paving stones or broken streetlights? Report these through Hiermelden. Only for problems that are not urgent.

What is a public space report?

You report a problem in a place everyone can use, such as a street, park or square. Examples include rubbish in a verge or ditch, a loose paving stone or a broken streetlight. Hiermelden is for problems that are not urgent.

Will my local council receive the report?

This depends on whether your council is connected and on the type of problem. With an active connection, reports go to the council or another organisation that can resolve them. Without an active connection, your report stays in Hiermelden and is not forwarded. After saving, you can see what happens to your report.

Do I have to provide my name or email address?

No. Save your report first. You can then add contact details if you would like updates. Keep the personal link to your report.
